The property

Join us at our one-of-a kind property, Volcan Verde Field Station, in the highlands of San Cristobal Island. This sustainable eco-lodge has been designed from the beginning with conservation of native flora and fauna in focus. We are located just outside of El Progreso, the first settlement in the Galapagos Islands. We are nestled alongside our most important neighbor - the Galapagos National Park, you will love the serenity and connection with nature.

The cabins are ideal for your group visit to the Galapagos Islands. Volcan Verde will be your home base while you explore the island that where Charles Darwin first landed. It is here that his imagination and interest were sparked!

During your stay at Volcan Verde, your group can explore our nature trails, learn about repopulation efforts at our on-site tortoise center, utilize our classroom and interpretation center, and enjoy the observation tower above the canopy with views of the coast and Kicker Rock!  We are located nestled along the Galapagos National Park, and have worked closely with their staff to develop a reclaimed natural space.  Invasive plant species have been removed, and endemic species have been brought in to replace them.  This is the foundation for an active presence of native birds, butterflies, and other species.  We will coordinate with your education plan to provide expert local guides to suit your needs.
